This is the Hummer designated for Glenn Dorsey's travels around New York City this week. Even though he spent much of his week traveling around the city with the five other college stars invited to the Draft -- Jake Long, Chris Long, Matt Ryan, Vernon Gholston, and Darren McFadden -- they apparently didn't do much car-pooling.
Six Hummer H2's sat parked and ready outside Radio City Music Hall today, ready to get 10 miles per gallon while using four-wheel drive to navigate the mountainous terrain of Sixth Avenue.
It's not exactly reasonable to expect the NFL to cart around its future stars in Camry hybrids, but it's another reminder that the NFL is a business first, and its priorities seem to be more oriented to maintaining a flashy image of muscle than an environmentally conscious one.

4. Right on, good post Matt. Even the bulletproof NFL has plenty of room for improvement.
Hey md3td, guess what? WE know those kids getting shot in Iraq cause we WERE those kids in Iraq. I'm guessing you were playing Madden(s) '03-'08 at the time, am I wrong?
Did we fight America's war for Middle East dominance so uninformed citizens can keep acting like there's no problem with our environment or oil-based economy?
I ride a Klein Stage R Comp, not a huffy.

5. I suppose if they would have used Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Mercedes G-Wagon, any number of Porsche vehicles, etc - which are all WORSE for the environment than HUMMERS, this article would still have been written?
The United Nations did a study on global warming that said the meat industry was worse for the enivronment than all autos combined. "Environmentally Conscious NFL Only Serving 80 Hamburgers at Draft," would have been more to the point - but its harder to hate what you eat everyday isn't it?
