Despite Reports to the Contrary, Jason Taylor Has Not Been Traded

So the Sun-Sentinel, citing an NFL Network report that nobody has yet to see, claimed that Jason Taylor was on his way to Tampa Bay in a trade shrouded in secrecy. Yeah, that didn't happen. It might, but just not the way it was reported yesterday. And perhaps more importantly, Dolphins overlord Bill Parcells, who earlier this off-season said the only way Taylor won't be in Miami is if he retires, continues to be a man of his word.

In any event, the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero writes that Taylor is still a member of the Dolphins. For now, anyway:
''Didn't get any calls,'' Ireland said when asked how much activity there was in advance of a possible trade. ``There was no discussion.''...

This much is not rumor: Despite vice president of football operations Bill Parcells saying that the only way Taylor doesn't play for Miami this year is if he retires, the Dolphins are indeed open to trading Taylor.
So forget that thing about Parcells keeping his word because, uh, it doesn't hold.

In any event, Taylor's on the trade block but with the draft already in the third round, it'll take more than a bevy of late-day picks to get him out of Miami. Interestingly, the Dolphins selected DE/OLB Kendall Langford in the third round, which could be an indication that Taylor's on his way out.

Or not; as NFL Network's Mike Mayock points out, Taylor and Langford play different positions. It sounds good, though.
