At FanHouse, one man's trash is another man's treasure. But only the few raise to the level of Notable Moments in FanHouse Commenting. One of the best parts of the NFL draft is the passion that fans show for their teams. We see it in a ton of FanHouse comments, including this one a Titan fan gave to this entry from JJ Cooper entitled "Titans Sure Love to Draft Running Backs." Unfortunately, the comment wasn't published because of some very naughty words, but I have cleaned it up some so you can read its passion without serious profanity offending your delicate sensibilities:
**** YOU TITANS!!!! IM A DIE HARD FAN AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS MAD AT MY TEAM BEFORE. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO SENSE IN THIS PICK. WE DONT EVEN NEED A ****ING RUNNINGBACK AND THERE WAS LIMAS SWEED (VINCE'S FORMER ****ING TEAMMATE!!!!) AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!!! WATTTTT THEEEEEEE ****KKKKKKKKK ARE YOU DUMB ****SS THINKING IN TENNESSEE. SO NEXT YEAR WHEN VINCE ONLY THROWS FOR 9 INTS AGAIN, DONT BLAME HIM. YOU SHOULD HAVE GIVEN HIM A ****ING RECIEVER. NOT ANOTHER ****ING RUNNINGBACK FOR THE THIRD ****ING YEAR IN A ROWLet me make a brief point on style. I believe the Titan fan makes a cogent argument that might be shared by other Titan fans, but he does not need to use the all capital letters to make his point. Though popular among certain enthusiastic fans with poor typing skills, all caps is not the preferred commenting style at FanHouse. You might see all caps around here a lot, but really, please don't do that.
I leave you with a public service couplet: Please keep the comments clean, so that they can be seen. Thank you.

1. I find it comical how many fans and sportswriters attempt to portray themselves as draft gurus and expert talent evaluators. The best I saw was when the Jets selection of the TE in the 1st round was announced. The guy right in front of the the camera starts cheering and pumping his fists when the selection was announced then realized most people were booing so immediately, with a puzzled look on his face, turns his fist-pumping into a thumbs-down and starts booing.

2. I dissagree the caps DO make a point, it made me feel it. He was yelling and very upset, and since I'm a DIEHARD RAIDERS FAN I completely understand . You know my team has upset me. For me personally I am not a typist or do I have great vison or a colledge grad so my grammer sucks my spelling is worse and I cant see for sh!t. So sorry Miss Stephanie Stradly not every fan has to report to an editor everyday and have proper grammer especially typing with two fingers this crap took me 20 minutes or more to type and I probably still got alot of things wrong, oh well.

3. Rob-
I couldn't agree more.
Albert-
You make a valid point. Maybe we should make an exception for Titan and Raiders fans.
Thanks for reading and commenting.

4. Albert-
You are right in that all caps indicate yelling. However, I would think you would yell ON OCCASION to make a point. Once you start yelling all of the time, people tend to tune you out at much as possible.

6. There is a slogan by coaches and general managers that states if they let the fans run the franchsise the coaches and general managers will be in the stands with them. Fans if you don't like your team then find another activity.

7. Some know nothing 'fan' flips-out over a draft pick and somehow that's worth its own post? Like it doesn't happen every year for almost every team?
I'm relatively sure profanity on an internet comment board isn't too groundbreaking/noteworthy either.
Yawn.
@diehardchris
Typical Houston fan to spend their evenings looking for Titans stories to get snarky about. I guess I would do the same if my football team had more top 5 draft picks than playoff appearances.

8. August West-
I've been looking for a post for a while to use as a demonstration of how not to comment. It just happened to be a Titan post.
Worth a post. You can't have enough draft commentary, and this was one that:
1. Was funny.
2. Was an example of what not to post.
3. Actually made a point that a lot of Titans fans feel today.
It's worth mentioning in draft conversation--nobody thought that the Titans would go running back with that pick.
So, what do you think of what the profane guy said about your first pick in the draft? Do you like how the rest of your draft went? I'm not asking to be rude, I would just like to know what informed Titan fans think of their draft.
Thanks for reading and commenting,
Steph

10. i don't believe IF the Titans had drafted a reciever, that he would make an impact for this upcomming season. If you have followed the Titans for years you know, they never start rookie receivers. If they had chosen to go reciever, it's likely he would ride the bench or play spot duty for the next couple of years. I believe the Titans front office feels comfortable heading into next season with the recievers they have, who have been developing over the past couple seasons. To me this looks like a draft to fill depth, aside from the possible playmaking ability of CJ, the rest of the draftees will assume reserve roles. I know everyone wanted to see a guy like Limas Sweed but, had the Titans taken him, you would have been upset when his playing time was virtually nothing. As for all the people whining and crying about not taking a receiver, get over it, maybe Roydell or Paul Williams will surprise you. The Titans are full of receivers and one of them could be on the verge of breaking out as a #1 guy. Remember also, Vince is still young and developing, a solid ground attack, a good tightend, backs cathing balls out of the backfield, will only create more oppertunities for the recievers we do have to make plays downfield.

11. Thanks for the response Steph; I'll agree that the one you picked was definitely an alpha-jerk post if you were looking to make an example out of someone...
Outside of the knuckle-draggers who crawl out of the woodworks to offer draft opinions (because everybody is an expert I swear), I'd say about 90% of the Titans fans I know had the exact same reaction: completely freaked out for about 20 minutes after the Johnson pick, then started to cautiously love it when we realized he's a very good receiver out of the backfield who can be a reggie bush/brian westbrook type game breaker we've begged for over the past decade.
We're a fanbase used to seeing Eddie George and LenDale White out there, so a burner on the edge is a new piece of the puzzle for us. Where we got screwed was when 9 WRs went between our 1st and 2nd pick... that being said, Hawkins reminds a lot of us of Derrick Mason.
As far as getting a RB 3 years straight, as long as 2 of them hit, I can deal with it: we will always be a run-heavy team so the more RBs the merrier I guess.
One thing a lot of Titans fans had to be reminded of, and a point that is totally lost on the national analysts, is that our biggest offseason addition was the return of Mike Heimerdinger as OC... Norm Chow simply couldn't coach NFL receivers, so it'll be interesting to see how the 10 guys we already have progressed under an NFL OC, not a college QB 'guru'.
Personally, I crawled inside a bottle of Dickel for the evening after they passed on my boy Earl Bennett with the 2nd pick... he was the one receiver that was ready to play on day one in this draft, IMO.

12. People tend to just gloss over all caps posts because all-caps is harder to read and you have to slow down since it is hard on the eyes. Also, why would you want to be perceived as yelling at a computer screen? Well, they are flying meatball fans so I guess they get the short bus pass on this one. Bless their hearts.
