At first glance, it may have seemed odd that Suns head coach Mike D'Antoni would get himself ejected with under four minutes remaining and his team up by 24 points. I mean, what could possibly have been going so badly, right? Well, it appears that D'Antoni was reacting to this questionable play from the Spurs' Robert Horry.
I don't think Horry was necessarily being dirty here, as it's a fairly common play to throw the ball off of someone on the opposing team as you're headed out of bounds. But maybe the fact that he threw it directly at Stoudemire's groin is what got coach Mike so upset.
Sure it may have been an over-reaction, but the coach's job is to protect his team by pointing out questionable plays like that to the refs. And if the coach doesn't protest plays like these, then shots below the belt may just become an all-too-common occurrence.

The Spurs will use any trick in the book to win;
They are running out of options come next round if not the one after that.

Wait a minute. Were talking about a player with 7 championship rings. Based on many of the shallow comments I see where a player's ability is based solely on how many rings he has won, Horry is a better player than any other basketball player on the planet.

Haha, I didn't know that's why D'Antoni got tossed. I was watching that game without sound at work and was wondering what happened. I know alot of people don't like D'Antoni, but I love his fire. I don't think the play was intended to do anything to harm Amare, but I like that the Suns and their Coach came out with some fire and managed to sustain it the whole game.

I don't think Horry meant any harm. It was more in the direction of his legs and it was a perfectly legit move in my book.

carl, beat a new horse to death please. Most, if not all coaches, will go to bat for their players, no matter how ridiculous the situation may seem. The Suns are no whinier than any other team.

Well, I may be completely off base here but as a lifetime hockey player, we would sometimes go out and kick someone's ass to keep the "fire" going. What better time than when you have locked up a victory to tell the officials and the world just how you feel. I'm sure it made the team feel good to have someone stand up for them in this type of manner. I dont think it was Horry's play, I just think it is dirty Horry. As for continuing the whining, they are professional ball players... I thought it was a requisite. Duncan's face, Kurt Thomas' eyes, Kobe's pinky, etc. I think that half the rason they get paid so much is to come up with some signature way to say "NOT ME"!!! And, come on Carl, if your own coach won't go to bat for you (right, wrong, or indifferent) who the hell would?
SUNS IN 7!!!!
