There's really no excuse for this whatsoever. Why were they doing this insane stunt -- which they admittedly only do once a year -- in between the first and second quarters? Your guess is as good as mine.

The Floor Is on Fire in NOLA
Bruce Bowen was hot during the first half of the Hornets -- Spurs Round 2 opener, but the floor was hotter. After Hugo the Hornet jumped through the ... Ring of Fire. The only problem was the the dreaded Ring did not ever extinguish itself, forcing New Orleans arena staff onto the floor with fire extinguishers, as the game was delayed 19 minutes.
There's really no excuse for this whatsoever. Why were they doing this insane stunt -- which they admittedly only do once a year -- in between the first and second quarters? Your guess is as good as mine.

1. Only in New Orleans are bizarre forms of sports entertainment allowed.

2. I agree with you George about why did they do this between quarters, when they have only done it once before? If they were going to do it, why not during half-time or after the game? As far as your comment, Jesse- I sometimes have had a problem with the "hack a whoever player" to interrupt their rhythm, but, at least the game is still being played and the players don't have to sit around and get cold waiting for them to cleanup the mess. There is also the possibility of a player getting hurt with this kind of circumstance resulting from the "Ring of Fire" incident. Why did they try to put it out on the floor, knowing that the sediment from the extinguishers would get on the floor and cause problems? They should have had a better plan in place in case something happened. Even though they cancelled the halftime show, in order to try to clean up the mess, I know that there was still residue on the floor as could be seen in the second half, with some players still sliding or falling on the floor. Before Game 2 on Monday, they really need to do a thorough redo of the floor, so, when Game 2 starts, we do not have any injuries to any player. I also do not know why you are complaining that you needed a delay tactic to help you out-you did take the win away from us, didn't you?

4. Hey if pop wants to use hack a whoever your worst free throw shooter is to interrupt rythmn and gain extra possessions then why cant we think of these delay tactics to help us out. With them being old and us young it really does make sense. Ha how does it feel Pop.
