All this time I thought that the secret to Charles Barkley's success as a player was the fact that he was an incredible athlete that played the game with a toughness that few players around the league were able to match. Turns out I was wrong. Because according to Charles, It was all about "my butt - which is huge."
I've never agreed with Kenny Smith more in my entire life than when he instructed the TNT crew not to go to a commercial break after Charles began a sentence with, "When I was in physics class ..." And as he finished the sentence, it was revealed that physics professors at Auburn taught the principles of "skinny spiny legs against a big ol' butt." Absolutely fascinating.

2. "I took a lot of classes. I didn't pass them all, but I took a lot of classes. "
God Bless Charles.

3. This is old news. The 5 second rule was established primarily to keep Barkley from backing a player down to the basket because he was so heavy with such a low center of gravity.

4. As Paul Harvey would say "Now you know the rest of the story." Thanks Charles for your insight on your success as a basketball player. I thought it was your tough guy attitude.

7. Barkley is the man. It's a shame that formr Sixers owner Harold Katz destroyed that dream team back in 86. We would have had Daugherty, Malone, Cheeks, Dr J, and Sir Charles. He would have had his championship.

8. Barkley is a schmuck and always will be.

9. If having a big ass is the secret to success, Charles is on the way. If being the biggest ass is the secret, Charles is already the most successful person in the universe.

10. A couple of months ago, at the Mandelay Bay Casino, I was working out in the health club and Charles was on the next treadmill.
We had a short conversation about his golf game and I was impressed at how friendly and courteous he was. Just a swell guy.

11. Adrian Dantley was the same. It may cost extra to fly but comes in handy on a bball court.

12. Sir Charles is great! "Tells it like it is", as Howard would say. But if you like Butts,Scarlett Yohansen? Now that's a butt. I vote for Sir Charles on any talk show but the less said about his butt the better.

13. Because of Charles Barkley, I became a fan of basketball! I live in Philadelphia, and was witness to one of the greatest athletes with the BEST personality in this era! Charles is generally underrated as a genius in his sport. He was right alongside Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, etc..., and Charles never, ever had much help from great players on his team, where Jordan did! Still, Charles played on! He is the greatest basketball player that ever suited up! We love Barkley.

16. Charles Barkey strikes me as a know it all. He gets on my last nerve and I will be glad when he is off the tube. He is sickening!

17. Charles Barkley is a breath of fresh air no matter what he is talking about. His honesty is apparent and sense of humour (even when he is his own target) is so entertaining I stop to watch him. His efforts on the golf course brings a much needed break to the monotony of an otherwise dead serious sport. His real value though lies in his frankness about life and issues facing all of us. No pretense and we all know about his bad habits but to his credit he offers no lame excuses. He is what you see and that is what you get. Go Charles!

18. Sir Charles was one outstanding basketball player! Does any body remember him picking Shaq and throwing him down on the floor? He was a a team player, always ready to play and never bitched about monies.
He even had his contract redone so the Suns could bring on more talent! By far one of the class acts of the NBA. When a memeber of the first "Dream Team" he was by far the most popular.....He made it proud to be an American in a foreign country. He was good for the game.....And still to this day he rules!!
Big butt or not, the man knew how to play basketball. and for all those great games....We thank you Sir Charles!!
