The West hosted all of this weekend's MLS action, but the home field advantage wasn't enough to give them the edge over the East. Going 3 for 5 on the weekend, the East asserted its authority over MLS, and if the standings were combined, the top teams in the West would be tied for 7th at best. Not exactly parity, if you ask us, but its still early enough in the season for things to pan out. Meanwhile, some familiar faces return to New England, Houston's familiar face finally show up, and we see if LA's popular pair have enough to get past Red Bull New York. Results of all 5 matches after the jump.

Ladies and gentlemen, the 2008 Houston Dynamo. A hearty slow clap for Brian Ching and Dwayne DeRosario for finally, FINALLY, getting on the scoresheet and getting a much awaited 3 points for the defending champs. Colorado has to be cursing their bad luck for giving up a game-winning penalty kick to DeRo in the 87th, but considering the Dynamo's horrifyingly bad luck, we have to think they earned it.
FC Dallas 1 - Real Salt Lake 2
RSL keeps finding ways to keep us on the bandwagon with a victory over a talented FC Dallas squad. While their offense has been struggling recently, Kenny Cooper still managed to get a goal on the concrete turf of Rice-Eccles field, scoring his 5th early in the second half. The Dallas defense couldn't scrape together a tie though, allowing Kyle Beckerman's winning goal in the 73rd.
Columbus Crew 3 - San Jose Earthquakes 2
Break up the Columbus Crew! We had thought that San Jose had things under control, especially with Ramiro Corrales taking the lead going in to halftime. However, the Crew proceeded to rip apart the Earthquakes late in the game. In just 10 minutes, Columbus managed three goals against the usually composed San Jose defense. While Frank Yallop and company would like to have another shot at them, Columbus escapes in fantastic fashion and remains at the top of the table.
Red Bull New York 2 - LA Galaxy 1
In the "flashy" match up of the week, New York heads to the Home Depot Center to face Beckham and Donovan. Usually it is up to the two big names to fire up the offense, and without them putting up the numbers, its usually and uphill battle for LA. This was the case Saturday night as Alan Gordon scored the lone goal for LA, a late equalizer in the 73rd minute. However, New York battled back for the win with Juan Pablo Angel and Dane Richards finally showing up for the Red Bull, notching the first goal and assist for each respectively.
New England Revolution 2 - CD Chivas USA 1
The Revolution get closer to full strength with the return of Taylor Twellman and Steve Ralston. With a deeper lineup and a definite talent edge, New England took an easy two points from the struggling Chivas USA. Kenny Mansally opened up the scoring in the 18th minute while Ralston linked up with Twellman in the 59th.
