When the New England Patriots were caught taping the New York Jets' defensive signals during the first game of the 2007 season, the NFL had egg on its face for several reasons, including the fact that Fox Sports' Jay Glazer got his hands on the tape in question, and the league's boneheaded decision to destroy all the evidence.Today NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell met with former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh, and the league decided it didn't want egg on its face again. So this time the league promptly released to the media copies of the tapes that Walsh turned over to the league office.
Now ESPN and NFL Network are both airing the tapes, and reporters in an NFL conference room in New York City are looking at the tapes, and the tapes are showing ... nothing we didn't already know. The camera focuses on an opposing team's coach making signals, and then it pans up to the scoreboard.
That's a violation of the rules -- the very violation of the rules that the Patriots were sanctioned for in September. If this is the only violation of the rules that Walsh told Goodell about, the Patriots are going to breathe a sigh of relief today.

Crickets are chirping. Spygate is dead. Your team is dead if it plays the pats.
Congrats to the Giants. they deserved to win.
My apologies to the other 28 teams that will be the grass under Sherman's boots as the Pats decimate you on their way to another SB.
For those of you that will claim that the Pats had a lost seaon last year, I say this: I watched, every week but one, the Pats win. In a whole year, they only lost once. This was the biggest game of the year, and the team that beat them deserved it. The Giants were not lucky, they deserved to win.
I have watched, in the last decade, a dynasty that has won more games (and 3 championships) in that span than any other team in the NFL has EVER won. And how are YOU doing?
