Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Allen is reportedly being investigated for pulling a gun on a man to whom he owed money for gambling debts.Allen has not been arrested or charged with any crime. A Miami Herald report says that Davie Police have confirmed that Allen answered their questions Friday evening about "a dispute," but the Herald gives few details about the nature of the dispute.
The Sun-Sentinel reports, however, that WPLG-Channel 10 is reporting that the dispute was over gambling debts that Allen owed to another man. The WPLG web site has nothing about Allen.
From the NFL's perspective, it's the gambling aspect of this story that is the biggest concern. The NFL tells players not to even associate with gamblers, let alone get into a position where the gambler is demanding money from the player and the player is pulling a gun on the gambler. If that's what happened here, Allen could be in trouble with the league office.

11. Self righteous baseball banned one of the purest players of all time for the same thing. Don't give me that crap that Rose was more of an integral part of the game because he was coaching. When a player tied to gambling gets in trouble financially with the game he's involved with he would have an above normal potential to compromise (shave points) his playing skills and his integrity to get out of the trap he's set for himself. Regardless the tremendous salaries these guys make their greed & simple minded nature propels them into being easy targets for even easier bucks. Look at Charles Barkley, he admitted since he was TWENTY FIVE that he had a gambling problem. That would put him in the hay day of his professional career. I wonder how many points he shaved?

14. Why are so many people carrying guns? And, why do they believe using a gun on someone is the only way to settle a dispute? If this guy actually pulled a gun on someone, I hope he's prosecuted and spends time in jail.

18. What are these players thinking of? What do we have to do to keep these players out of trouble? If Will is guilty, Bill needs to make a statement. I am a true Dolphin fan and I hate to read about players who cant stay focused. The Dolphins can not have these distractions in 2008.
