Kahne, who had not previously been made eligible for Saturday-night's Sprint All-Star Race XXIV, won the fan vote to be included in the main event race, and made the most the of it by winning his first career All-Star event. In doing so, Kahne guaranteed himself a spot in the race for the next ten years and a cool million bucks.
The race -- split up into four 25 lap quarters that offered only money and pride and no championship points -- saw no caution flags due to accidents. In fact, the biggest story wasn't the crashes, but rather the inability for drivers who looked like clear favorites to wrap up one of NASCAR's richest nights.
First, Kyle Busch led the event's first 38 laps (including winning the first segment while going away) before developing an engine issue. The team tried to fix the issue during the 10-minute break after the first two segments, but eventually gave in after the issue was deeper in the engine.
Teammate Denny Hamlin also led in the last segment, but developed a similar issue forcing him to retire after 86 laps.
Carl Edwards was tabbed by Lowe's Motor Speedway track president Humpy Wheeler to win the event, but instead won the second segment two to lead into the halftime pit road break. The No. 99 crew must have made some big adjustments as Carl's car wasn't nearly the same afterwards, and he never competed for the win again.
Greg Biffle won segment three, but he even couldn't run down Kasey Kahne in the waning laps of the fourth and final segment as the No. 9 Dodge pulled away to a steady lead and ultimate victory.
While Kahne has always been one of the more popular drivers since his arrival into Sprint Cup a few years ago, you can imagine he's never been more appreciative to have fans on his side.

Hats off to Kasey and his crew chief for a job well done. Overall though, it was a pretty boring affair with no driver really pressing the issue. And what a sad way for Dale Jarrett to end his career, running at the rear of the pack with no chance to win. On the other hand, you had to be impressed with Hornish and the great job he did. I can't help but question Eury's decision to give up all that track position to put on 4 new tires. It took away any chance Jr might have had for victory. I think the race would better show the drivers skills if they provided identical cars like they used to do in the IROC series. Maybe then we'd find out who the real all-stars were. Works for me.....

Nice win Kasey, I think Kasey won before he crossed the checkered flag, he was the popular vote and he had that little sprint cup hottie following him around for the prerace show. If she was not related to him Kasey Kahne scored two wins during the All star race. Pedal to the metal for one, hammer down for the other... ;) Nice job Mr. Kahne.

I missed most of the race, but caught the end. I was shocked to see Kasey Kahne finally win a race. Good job, little fella (sorry, he looks like a kid to me). His crew chief definitely made the smartest call of the entire race.
Don, I must agree with you. What a sad final race for DJ. I am a huge fan of his and I would have loved to have seen him run in the front, or better yet, have won the race.

Bernie,
The Sprint Cup young lady was there because Sprint has paid her to be Miss Sprint OR whatever they call her. She has been around since last season. I know that she has appeared in many Victory Lane celebrations including one with Smoke. I also saw one very popular married driver try to steer her away from him in general and in the Victory Lane photos.
Many women disagree with me BUT it is not helpful to women. It is demeaning.
I am sure that you didn't say anything intentional. However, it would be nice if a woman could do her job, in her full uniform, and not be referred to in a way that almost makes it sound like she is just a piece of a@@ that is going to be hitting the sheets with Kasey.
So stop it!!! OK! :)
Still your friend (I hope)

I guess that Don can't write a post without putting down Tony Jr or Dale Jr.
There are 42 other drivers and crew chiefs. But it's always the same negative comments about Jr. Who are Don's drivers? I'd like to reverse it back on him but I'mnot going to do it if I respect the driver.
Why can't Don move on?
The 77 could barely get his car in the garage because of the dogtracking. BUT I think he did a great job. Sounds like a nice guy and I would love to see him do well. It also sounds like Nascar is going to impose limits on rear end setup. If the car won't fit on the scales and it's difficult to get into the garage without hitting a wall. Well, Nascar may have a problem with that.

Susan,
I didn't mean to offend. It's Kasey Kahne we're talking about, he's popular with the ladies as it is, there is a good chance he had a majority of the female votes which gave him the upper hand in fans choice entry, so I just figured she may have taken advantage of her situation. I respect women in the work place I work around plenty of female mechant marines (my daughter is a coast guard licensed engineer) and am respectful but we're talking about a young race car driver.
I think it's very appealing to women that's why my male overactive imagination kicked in to overdrive.. Sorry ladies, I really didn't mean to sound disrespectful. I know I'm enough of a pain with my Kyle Busch rants...LOL :-)

Bernie don't sweat susan, you don't have to kiss her butt to post on here. She rarely adds anything of interest and mostly likes to look down her nose at us peasants from atop her ivory tower. The models add beauty and a feminine touch to a mostly male sport. The only ones who bitch about them are the fat ugly women who envy them. Works for me.....

Bernie,
I am sure that you didn't mean anything negative.
Trust me, I am no Gloria Steinem either.
I just wanted to ask you to portray women as normal humans and not hussies when possible.
(I kid) :)

Don,
You were just upset with what I said to you. Should I assume your Jr and Jr envy is because you differ from them greatly? You must not be much of a man if you've been married, what 5 or 7 times? Can't hold on to a woman, can you? I'm surprised you ever got one. Did you say "I do" or was it "works for me" at those special moments? How original 'works for me is'! LMFAO
How much do you contribute when apparently you lie and mislead others thru your comments SO THEY accuse you of lying. Where was Davey Allison exactly? Who was with him? Why didn't you just admit your a liar? Why did you have to a.) stay away and then come back and lie that you were just trying to rattle their cage?
You act like you know it all!!! I don't think your decent to other posters. You werE a big a'hole consistently until very recently. What I read a while back from your comments was constant bullying of others, belittling and grossness.
You have a lot of nerve to say your crap to Bernie of all people. Wasn't it Bernie that you referred to as having .....................? You then have the nerve to tell Bernie to ignore me after what you said about him.
I offer more to this forum than your persistent belittling of Jr. I am not fat or ugly either. But if I were, it would be none of your f'ing business.
I am glad that I don't know you. I think your just a miserable POS.
I'll ignore your dumbass comments in the future but don't you ever attack me again.

Now Don,
How many times do I have to explain to you how you are supposed to treat women? Are you not getting it?
First, Susan is welcome on these pages and adds plenty to the conversation! She is not a dummy and deserves yours and everyone else's respect! Your comments toward her were demeaning and disrespectful to say the least. It isn't funny! It's rude & degrading! There are some on here who believe you add nothing of substance to the threads. Although you and I have put our past disagreements behind us, I simply cannot sit back and watch as you degrade yet another woman, someone that I personally have befriended and is a WONDERFUL person! Susan & I email each other on many occasions and she is quite inquisitive. She is a HUGE NASCAR fan as am I. But like me, she doesn't have all the answers. And like me, when she doesn't, she asks others. That doesn't make us stupid!
You need to think about how offensive you sound before you type. You owe Susan an apology!

And another thing.....
The "ones that bitch about the models" are not just fat, ugly women. Yes, we know NASCAR is mostly a "male sport," Don. Jeez, last time I looked, more than half the fans in the stands were women! And don't fool yourself. The goodlooking Sprint Cup and other models are not there for "the women." Give me a break! They are there for you idiotic men who need to look at a pretty face and nice young tight body! Gag me! Frankly, I find it annoying that they have to stick their noses in every shot during the winner's celebration in victory lane. I don't watch NASCAR to see them, don't care to see them, see no point in them other than to give men like yourself a rise (and yes, I meant it the way it sounds).
Don't get me wrong, I am a very indepenedent woman and we all know an opinionated one at that, but I am the first to admit when I find another woman attractive. In fact that's one thing my hubby likes about me. I point them out to him. Just last week when in Miami, we would be sitting on the beach and a nice looking woman would walk by wearing a thong. I figure if you're going to flaunt it, then you expect people to look, so I would point it out to him. However, we women and most men don't need some "model" thrown into our faces every whip stitch on national television. They serve no purpose and do nothing for sophisticated, intelligent, and successful women everywhere. How do I know this, because I used to model in high school. Frankly, I quit because I couldn't stand how ignorant these girls were and couldn't stand how they were "afraid" to eat so would starve themselves. I wanted something better for myself then to be associated with a bunch of anorexic idiots.
And lastly, Bernie. Although you didn't mean to offend, you did. At least you had the "balls" however to somewhat apologize once you realized you had done so.
And as for Kasey Kahne....frankly anyone who is over the age of 18 that would be attracted to him, has a problem in my opinion. He looks like a child. Those Allstate adds are offensive and sick in my opinion. What are we promoting with those adds? Desperate Housewives for Pete's sake! Give me a break! Once again, Gag me!

Ditto Kim welcome back, glad to see you've improved your swing with that stick.
And Susan,,,,,well said.......My first thought after reading Don's comments were much the same as yours, it seems DamntheNationDon just can't help himself, it would not have mattered if Jr. would have lapped the field.......Eury would have done something wrong and Don would have let us all know even if the blog was about all the colors of M&M's.
Consider the source about his comments about women, he's only speaking from his own experience.
Aloha, Brad

Ron,
Thank you Ron. I do appreciate that very much. I am spunky but I've always wanted to retain friends. I think Don crossed the line with the nothing to contribute, fat, ugly etc remarks.
There are a small group of people here that I respect and talk wit. If that group feels as though I am able to contribute then I want to continue being here.
However, if Don is correct, and this groups wants me out then I will gladly leave. I hope that I am wanted but if not then I will move on.
If you can post it here that that's ok. If you need an email site then let me know.
Thanks!

Ahhhh....it's good to know I still have the gift of firing people up. So far this year it's been a little slow on these pages, so I decided to throw out some bait to see who bit. People, you're so preditable it almost takes the fun out of it. Kim always comes back with how educated and beautiful she is, Ron and Brad attack my honesty and intelligence, and now Susan wants to question my manhood. Sounds like you have all the bases covered.
I don't mind the attacks, or else I wouldn't push your buttons. I can't help but smile at the thought of each of you searching for the right phrase or insult as you compose your responses. Admit it or not, it gives you a chance to vent your anger and break away from the usual role you've chosen to play in life. Bottom line, like me or not, you read and respond to what I write, and that is the purpose of these blogs and my humble words. So relax, I'll pull in the bait and play nice for a while. Let me leave you with a little good advice....never squat with your spurs on. Have a nice day. Always works for me....

No one wants you to go Susan. Best way to handle Don is to ignor him. As I have said in the past, the guy's a jerk, he knows it and he likes it that way. To respond to him directly makes his day. I have exposed him for what he is and everyone on here knows it. Do yourself a favor and pretend he doesn't exist.
