The Word:

Carson Palmer Tries to Appear Disappointed in Ocho Cinco, Houshmazilly

Carson Palmer has apparently grown weary of the "aw, shucks" shtick in Cincinnati. Chad Johnson threw a temper tantrum in Palmer's direction and the Bengals quarterback seemed unfazed. A few weeks later, he declared that his frustration level was at "zero" when asked about Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh missing offseason workouts.

While this hardly qualifies as flying off the handle, today Palmer is described as being "disappointed," which for any other human, is akin to "going postal":
"You'd hope that a guy like Chad and a guy like T.J. would be here helping guys out and trying to make the team better in that way," Palmer said. "But they've got to handle their own business themselves, too."
Scandalous, I know. In an effort to build team unity (so far, so bad on that front, by the way), players found bright orange t-shirts in their lockers today with "NOW" printed in large letters. The shirts are courtesy of master motivator and orator Marvin Lewis:
"His point is: Don't wait," Palmer said. "Now's our opportunity. This year's our opportunity. He said in the first meeting that we have enough talent in the room -- and he said right now -- to win the Super Bowl, don't wait for things to happen."
Yes, t-shirts will save the Bengals' season. Ingenious.
