Many a major league ballpark runs a Kiss Cam on the big screen between innings on the big screen. You've probably seen it, they scan the park for couples who then smooch to the roar (or apathy) of the assembled masses. Because of that, I've always assumed that kissing was A-OK at America's ballyards. Well, either Seattle isn't in America or they've got a real problem with homosexuality. A semi-famous lesbian couple enjoyed a brief peck on the lips at a recent Mariner game and were met with a swift and angry reaction from stadium security.
Backstory: Sirbrina Guerrero, the offender pictured at right on the cover of May's issue of DList, is currently a contestant on MTV's Shot at Love 2 With Tila Tequila. And the at least one mom at Safeco field is not a fan:
"And he (the security guard) goes 'there's a lady whose son says he saw you guys making out, and I did, too. And you have to stop.' And I said 'well, we weren't making out, but we were kissing and I'm not going to stop,'" said [Sirbina] Guerrero.
Guerrero says the only reason she was called out was because of her sexual orientation.
"(The security guard said) the mom doesn't want to explain to the kids why two girls are kissing. So I said 'well, I'm not going to stop, so you'll have to kick me out. So he said 'so I suggest you leave then,"' she said.
They didn't get kicked out, despite Safeco's code of conduct's note that "displays of affection are not appropriate in a public family setting." They also took several pictures of heterosexual couples kissing to point out the double standard.
Clearly the standards should be the same for all fans, regardless of sexual orientation. If stadiums think that the best use of their security forces is rooting out rogue smoochers, then so be it but root them all out. I'd say there are better uses of their time, but it's their dime. Besides, you'd think the Mariners would be happy to learn that their putrid team hasn't robbed the joy and love residing in the heart of at least two of their fans.

Sorry, homosexuals are disqusting to the 98% of us who aren't. In fact, it turns our stomachs. While we don't care what you do behind closed doors, (and judging by this story, perhaps we should) we won't stand for it in front of our children. Seven year olds don't need to hear explanations they don't understand. The only thing they need to understand is all of you are sick!
Religion or not, homosexuals are an aberation as proof by their tiny numbers.
Homosexual men average over 150 different partners a year and that's why the Red Cross won't take their blood. Homo or not, 150 different partners a year is sick!

People who speak for 100% of the 98% of us who aren't homosexual are disgusting to the 98% of us who have our own thoughts, even those who agree with them.
If homosexuality turns your stomach, please give dates, times and places when and where you vomited upon seeing homosexual behavior.
As for the explanations seven year olds wouldn't understand, how about telling them, "You wouldn't understand," or "We can talk about it when you're older." Or, if you have a sense of humor, "Your father/mother/Aunt Frieda/Grandma/Rev. Smith can explain it better than I can."

I dont understand why its ok for homosexuals to be all out in the streets now talking about equal rights and stuff. I think they need to be ashamed and go back into hiding like they used to back in the day. Because it is not right and no one wants to explain to their freaking kids why two of the same sex are kissing!! God didnt intend on the world being this way so why should we adjust just because there are some people who want to be different?!

Well how should I respond to this...........OK first I am a straight married man and in my opinion if two girls cannot kiss in public because parents don't want to have to explain to their children why they are kissing, then why is it okay for a man and woman to kiss in public what is the difference? Me personally I don't care to see anyone kiss in public that stuff should be left behind closed doors. People like the 1st comment are just ignorant. To call anybody an aberation is mean but moreover it just goes to show that Racisim, sexisim, or whatever you want to call it is alive and well in the world today. You should just go move to an island where you can be alone with your stupidity. This is a FREE country and people are "free" to do what or who they want as many times they want as long as it is not against the law.

I am a part of the 98% who aren't gay. Genuine affection between two people isn't an aberation, regardless of orientation. We supposedley live in a country that treats it's people equally. I believe that if there is a rule that says no public displays of affection, then it should be enforced equally. The "facts" sited in Danny's email are skewed. I know some gay people who are in commited, long term relationships. I know of none that have averaged 150 partners a year.

As a mom, I can say that I think it was probably more than a peck. I doubt anyone would turn in someone for that. What I'm sure it was (and I've seen it) is they were "making out." That means inappropriate public behavior....I know I don't need to spell it out for you....Now...I don't like to explain to my children at a sporting event why any couple are almost having sex, in their seats during the game, so it's not really a matter of them being homosexual.
But...while we are here.....Why is it that homosexual people feel that it doesn't matter what makes anyone around them uncomfortable. In fact....I think for them, the more "in your face", "we're here, we're queer," mentality is exactly what they strive for. This girl is on MTV, cover's of magazine's etc...WHY? Because she's gay....That's her claim to fame. Has she done something to better the country? NO....All this is (as evidenced by her round on talk shows etc) is enforce the "gay" minority, which is that no matter what the bible says, no matter what ANYONE says, somehow, some way, homosexuals are going to push themselves and force all of us to accept them.
I have nothing against homosexuals..I feel sorry for them...It must be a tough life, but this is not an equality issue...this is a morals issue.

I am a very straight mother of two children, 8 and 5. If they see homosexual people kissing, holding hands etc. and they ask me about it, I just explain that sometimes boys like girls, boys like boys and girls like girls, and I don't make a big deal out of it. Why? Because I don't want my children to grow up as ignorant, closed minded bigots. This is the 21st centuary people, lets treat people equally, regardless of sexual orientation, religion, skin color, etc.

Homophobes are so funny clinging to old myths. On AIDS, let's just say that over 90% of all AIDS patients worldwide today are HETEROSEXUAL. On kissing, I wish that straights would stop being disgusting in flaunting their abnormal lifestyle in my face. Oh yeah, 54% of straight marriages end in divorce, while 0% of gay marriages in MA end in divorce. NOW, who's more promiscuous? HETEROS, of course!

Hey Danny, keep 100% of your comment toyourself and DO NOT draw me into your rant! I do not condone homosexuality but it is here and always has been. I do not promote or would like to see displays of affection beyond holding hands or limited hugging. But then again, I believe it should be held in check by heterals too! You wanna talk churning a stomach (figuratively of course)? Hopw about the displays of spit swapping some of our great heteral teens put on. For crying out loud, they look like they are ready to have an orgasm right there in public!
I am not a fan of gays, but do accept the fact they canno help what their orientation is. There public displays should be kept in check as well as heterals r-rated presentations!
I am not sure where you get your 98% from and the so called low numbers, but it sounds pretty far off to me!

The arrogance of this columnist, stating "Clearly the standards should be the same for all fans, regardless of sexual orientation." NO! It is not "clearly." It is NOT a foregone conclusion that this deviant behavior should just be thrust upon us or legitimized to the level of heterosexuality. Nature testifies that it is abhorrant and should not be tolerated, encouraged, or given legal protection. Wrong is wrong.

I am a gay man that has had ONE partner for over 18 years. If you want to go back to "the good ol' days its fine with me. Lets stop the whole babies momma thing. Teach your rotton little rugrats to behave in public. Make it shameful to be an unwed mother or get a divorce. That is what is ruining America.

I find it disgusting to see ANYONE acting like they are about to strip down and go at it in public, whether or not it's a hetrosexual couple or not.
A kiss is fine...but often what is happening is the "tongue down the throat, I'm gonna **** your brains out now" type thing. Often with flushed faces, panting and gasping... THAT in public is disgusting from anyone. Get a room and don't display in public like 2 dogs in heat.
