That second look is necessary because John Harris of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review has written a column about Polamalu's off-season workouts that is, frankly, stupid. Harris notes that the Steelers have given Polamalu their blessing to work out on his own rather than participate in organized team activities, and then he writes:
If the Steelers are so comfortable with Polamalu missing OTAs to train on his own because they are only voluntary workouts, why bother having OTAs at all? Why not permit players to train on their own?Let me try to spell this out as plainly as I can: The Steelers are not comfortable with all their players working out on their own because not every player is Troy Polamalu.
Polamalu is one of the best defensive backs in the league. He's a smart player who's a student of the game and knows his role in the Steelers' defense. He's dedicated to keeping himself in shape and has a personal trainer in California whose methods work for him. And he's coming off an injury that that personal trainer is helping him rehabilitate.
Remember when you were a kid and you told your parents you wanted to do something because your friend did it, and your parents asked, "If he jumped off a bridge, would you do it, too"? Well, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin isn't going to have to use that response when players come to him and ask whether they can miss OTAs because Polamalu is missing them. That's because all the other Steelers know perfectly well that Polamalu is a unique case. The only person who doesn't know that is John Harris.

Who gives a sht where he works out? I'm more interested in the type of equipment that he was using. He had some really unusual stuff! I am going to try to find the piece for vertical jump.
Hey Shockey works out on his own and up until last year Burris did to. Not a big deal!..Strahan didn't even go to camp and he's got a ten table ring! RELAX!

The holistic approach, specifically nerves and protecting against injury is exactly the theory behind a procedure used by the majority of N.E. Patriots. A retainer like mouth guard is now the focus of the NFL and the military. www.mahercor.com

Keep in mind that the "Marv" he is referencing as his instructor is Marv marinovich, father of "Robo-QB" (also known as Meth-QB) Todd Marinovich. So how comfortable are the Steelers really having Polamalu work out with this guy.
Best thing I saw in the video is that that stupid lettuce on his head will fit under his helmet this year. Cut it cut, Troy!

Whatever works for Troy, I say go for it unless he keeps getting injuries like last year. Then his training needs to be supervised. The Steelers are not the same team w/o TPol.
