The story that will not die just gained another nine lives -- Alex Rodriguez's wife, Cynthia, is officially suing for divorce, according to both the Miami Herald and the far more reputable TMZ. (AOL! Woo!) You can probably guess the reasons for the divorce: A-Rod's "alleged" extramarital affairs, not least of which may or may not involve Madonna. Cynthia's lawyer scored the first blows: Cynthia Rodriguez's lawyer tells TMZ, "A-Rod may be an All-Star baseball player, but he's flunked the All-Star team as far as marriage is concerned." Lilly says, "We're not gonna lose this case." He acknowledges a prenup exists but it's "too early" to decide if he'll challenge it. He says there will be a "huge settlement" in the case but "not hundreds of millions of dollars." Lilly says A-Rod's estate is "vast ... beyond what anyone knows."So, to recap: A-Rod does have a prenup (phew!), but doesn't have a guarantee that he's not going to get taken for millions (doh!). Also, Cynthia says her relationship with relatively horrible pop singer Lenny Kravitz is "totally puristic." Right. So is writing about this story for money. So puristic, in fact, that I think I'll go take a cold shower.
Madonna will not be specifically named in the divorce papers. Lilly says infidelity is a "major cause" for the divorce, but not because of any one allegation. Rather, he says, there were a series of dalliances and "Madonna was the last straw." Lilly says Cynthia did not have an affair with Lenny Kravitz and that her relationship with him is "totally innocent and puristic."

Just aa quick point: Florida is a "no-fault" divorce state. That means: unless it says so in the pre-nup, infidelity is not an admissable issue and cannot be a determining factor as to how much $$$ someone gets.

The true story is A-Rod is guy. The marrage was an arrangement to cover while he was establishing his Baseball fame. Putting Madonna in the mix is such a joke. Maybe Guy Richie (Madonna's husband) is who the "marrital infidelity" was with. Cynthia will be REWARDED well for putting up with the lie for five and a half years.

what we all need to do is leave a rod alone! He's a person just like any of us... It's just he's such a superstar his actions are magnified, and that's not fair... My mom had an affair with some dude while she was married to my dad when I was 1... But none of you guys knew that cause the was no news about it and I know none of you guys care about that because I'm not a millionaire and I don't have a job that "fans" come to see... Plus it's none of anyone of your's businesses... If this happened to you... You wouldn't this to happen to you... I bet if this happened to any of you I guarantee you'd try to only let the people who NEED to know know. Everyone is a fan of a rod you can't say you're not because of the team this man plays for... He's the best in baseball and he's got the contract to prove it... Real fans don't do this crap... This man busts his ass and not only plays for his love of the greatest sport ever but to provide entertainment for you all! Anytime and everytime one of our hero superstars wins awards... Who do they thank? The fans! They have such a love for entertaining the people as a whole that when people treat them like this and can't mind their own business they still thank YOU! But honestly when we do this sort of stuff would any of you thank us for doing this?! I wouldn't blame a rod if he stopped caring about his fans... It must be so painful to thank someone you try your hardest for...to give a great time at a baseball game and it's not good enough! He's a hero to countless numbers of people, he's a baseball player and anything away from the baseball field is NONE of our business... And stats don't lie... The numbers for divorces is rising faster than ever! It's not like his the only one who is getting divorced... So stop treating him like it!
