L.A. Times Columnist Really Wants Elton Brand to Remain a Clipper

It's not every day that you see tenured sports columnists making pleas -- on camera -- to a team's superstar that could possibly be skipping town for more money as a free agent. But that's exactly what we have here, as L.A. Times writer Bill Plaschke makes an impassioned (if somewhat odd) little video asking Elton Brand to remain a Clipper.

Is it really that serious? I wasn't thinking that Brand would actually leave once Baron Davis signed, and after all, Baron isn't worried. And now that I hear how Brand could be one of the few NBA players to negotiate a no-trade clause into his next contract with the Clippers, I think it's even more likely he'll stay. Either way, it's supposed to be resolved in the next day or two, so stay tuned.

Who in the hell does this BOZO think he is? How dare he challenge or question Elton Brand on his right to play where HE sees fit. Where does this "Mickey Mouse" sports writer come off with these threats if Brand signs with the Warriors. Elton Brand has every right to consider all offers and do what is best for him and his family. Will this sports writer make up the 20 million dollar difference between the Warriors offer and the Clippers offer? How dare you suggest this man should not consider an offer the will pay him 20 million dollars more.....shame on you. Never forget that at the end of the day this is a business.....the Owners see it that way as well as the Players. Baron Davis made his move and that was his choice........Elton Brand has the same right to make his move without trying to be pressured by of all things some insignificnat sports reporter.
