Plaxico Burress Admits Boredom Drove Him to Break Curfew During Training Camp Last Year

Hey, this is original: just like every other member of the New York Giants*, Plaxico Burress has a book coming out. Maybe that's why he wants to get a new deal done and get to camp -- to promote it from the practice field instead of his driveway sans shirt.

Actually, Burress sounds sincere when he says he and the Giants can come to an agreement on a new contract in the next few weeks, but like I mentioned yesterday, even if they don't, and Burress sits and watches -- like he did during OTAs -- that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Well, unless he gets fidgety:
Plaxico Burress reveals that last summer, while he was nursing a tender left ankle, he purposely broke curfew during training camp "a couple of times because I was bored."

The Giant wide receiver, who revealed the rule-breaking in his new book, does not expect to pull any similar stunts at training camp this year.
You'll have to read the book for all the juicy details, but sources** tell me that Burress would sneak out his second-story room by tying bed sheets together, hitch a ride into town, and smoke cigarettes and dance. Or maybe I'm just making that up.

Whatever, it beats the hell out of getting arrested, and since Burress is completely healthy heading into this season, it won't be an issue. "I'll be practicing, and hopefully I'll be too tired," a chuckling Burress yesterday told The New York Post. See, nothing to worry about.
