Brian Moorman of the Buffalo Bills is the best punter in the NFL, and he seems like a cool guy. He's been blogging about this week's Pro Bowl festivities on the team's official web site. I look forward to hearing what he has to say about this:
Ouch. That hit was courtesy of Redskins safety Sean Taylor. So far Moorman hasn't written about it. I can't say I blame him.

Oh yeah, that hit. See, the thing is that many of us die-hard Redskins fans have seen this too many times before and we are bored with it. The truth is incredibly obvious. Taylor can hit like a truck, but he seldom wraps up a tackle unless somebody is nearby to help. Many of us here in Washington were extrememly shocked when he was selected as an alternate for the pro bowl. He's really not that good.

Joe, why would Taylor want to wrap up a runner? Those hits don't get replayed over and over on Sportscenter. One troubling new trend is that it seems that teams reward hard hitters and maybe even practice that way. But the good players are the ones who do little things like wrap up a runner, you know funadmentals, things we learned in Pop Warner. The networks are to fault for an erosion of skills and an increase in showboating. Have you ever wondered why a player celebrates a simple tackle or sack of a QB something they are supposed to do, and to top it off they get paid enormous ammounts of money to do just that.No they will just stand around and dance and prance for the camera. That is because the TV crews film them and we see it on the highlights. The networks even replay the sack dance for certain players. Heck, LaDanian Tomlison wanted to fight some opposing players mocking one of his teammates sack dance, wow that is a noble trait.

Personally, I thought the hit was a cheap shot. He could have seriously injured Moorman and for what? Guess he wanted to look like Mr. Toughguy. The pro bowl is supposed to be an exhibition game. Maybe Taylor should save it for a game that might mean something, like the Super Bowl. Oh that's right, his team stinks and they can't even get to the playoffs.

Is was a good hit no doubt. But give Moorman credit. Not only did he get right up but he ran back onto the field and congratulated Taylor. It looked like he was even smiling. Wish more punters were tough like that.

that was cheap. i am a fan of sean taylor and his ability to light people up, but honestly, what is the point of smothering a kicker in a pro bowl??? if he wants to be tough, he should square up on LT and see if he gets the same results. that was completely unnecessary.

I'm not a fan of sean taylor or anything but that is what you call knocking someone the f*ck out! Punter or not, he had the football in his hands so he became a runner. He wasnt trying to get out of bounds or slide or anything so i dont see why ya'll call it cheap. But after he watches highlights of this, i bet he tries to slide next time!

You've got a problem with Sean Taylor hitting someone? Let me ask you this, what's in it for the defense if they can't hit someone? Everyone expects the defense to roll over and let the offense light up the scoreboard but they can't hit back? Give me a break. It was a good clean hit, the guy had the chance to go to the sideline but cut back right into ST's lane. The punter should have stepped out of bounds and avoided the hit. But he didn't and got wacked.

WHY ALL THE TAYLOR HATRED????
The punter CLEARLY had a choice tp step out of bounds. He decided to try to run upfield. What was Taylor supposed to do? Arm tackle him? Obviously you guys have never played football, or have concussions to the point where you've forgetten how it feels to be out there. If you play half-speed... You get hurt.
How is hitting a runner(Regardless of being a punter)who cuts upfield a cheap shot? If it had been Urlacher, the whole world would be on here talking about how much of a monster he is...

I am personally tired of people defending punters and kickers. Last time I checked, this is the NFL. Nice hit, even though that was in no way, shape, or form a good form tackle. If a player can't take a hit, then he's in the wrong sport.

THAT WAS A GOOD HIT, WHY BECAUSE THE PUNTER TRY TO BE A RUNNING BACK ON THAT PLAY, SO WHY WOULD A DEFENCE BACK LET A PUNTER MAKE A FOOL OUT OF HIM, HAY??? THE PUNTER WAS TRYING TO DO SOMETHING HE THOUGHT HE COULD, BUT FOUND OUT RUNNING IS NO JOKE,WHEN YOU CAN GET HIT LIKE HE DID. AND JUST BECAUSE IT WAS THE PRO BOWL DON'T MEAN A THING, EVERYONE WANT'S TO SHINE. THANK YOU.

First off all the hit was legal. The punter got up, I don't know how but he did. Sean Taylor should have made the pro bowl last year. I thought it was very funny that dude actually left his feet when Sean touched him. Sean Taylor is not a dirty player. you wanna talk Dirty then you talk Roy Williams of Dallas he is so dirty the league changed the way he tackles and you see because of that he was trash. I just wish it was a quarterback that he hit since they are so untouchable.

that was a hard legal hit and that is how the game should be played....all out all the time. That is also the reason a pro bowl which is meaningless now that the season is over is a bad idea and should be stopped..

SEAN TAYLOR IS BEAST!!! He personally beat the Cowboys at Fed Ex with a return and is the Redskins personal "jacked up" defender. As long as he keeps hitting people like he did at the Pro Bowl we Redskin fans will proudly wear burgundy and gold 21 jerseys!

I love to see football be played as it was designed: PHYSICAL. That being said, I am a die-heart Redskins fan and feel that Sean has lost a step or two, even in his early career and that he could be another Ken Houston and should be moved to strong safety and they shoul abandoned the cover two.

Sean Taylor plays football like it's suppose to be played. If you have the ball you get hit,and next time you think about that hit when you're running. That side line starts looking good.I say hell yea Taylor

I might have to agree this is the NFL, but it's also the Pro Bowl. Have fun and take this game for what it is, don't try and kill someone. It was excessive, especially since he never even went for a tackle. He just wanted to go through a small guy. Wow that takes skill!?
