Penn State will lose decorated linebacker Paul Posluszny to graduation after the Outback Bowl, and it sounds like Dan Connor
might follow him out the door:
On Thursday, Connor was as diplomatic as he could be when the media came to him in shifts, each bringing at least one inquisitor who re-broached the subject [of an early departure].
"Right now all of my thoughts are on Penn State, on the bowl," he said. "That (NFL) stuff is more for after Jan. 5. My full focus is on the bowl. I don't want to get caught up in that other stuff and get distracted. I'm in limbo right now. I'll weigh my options after the bowl game."
He later conceded that if he is projected as first-round draft choice, or at least a high second-round pick, it could persuade him to move on. The emphasis there should be on could. He didnt say it would.
Sean Lee stepped in ably at outside linebacker this year and will return, but losing both Connor and Posluszny along with Penn State's two star defensive tackles would be a heavy blow. Sounds 50-50 at best for Penn State fans.

1. I could be wrong but doubt if DCon willgo high enough in NFL Draft to leave early. He will get alot of needed exposure next year if he stays.

2. Speaking of linebackers, saw Paul Posluszny referred to as a "poor man's AJ Hawk." And that "comparisons to Hawk are exaggerated." If I remember correctly, didn't Poz outperform Carpenter, Hawk, and Schleigel last year?
If Hawk was so great, why is Demeco Ryans being looked at as Defensive Rookie of the Year?
