Continuing with less experience is more theme, Robert Yates Racing pulled Kenny Wallace out of the #88 this week at Talladega and replaced Ricky Rudd with Wallace's brother, Mike, instead.

It's not obvious to me why ... Kenny has more Nextel Cup experience and a better record at Talladega. RYR might have done better to put Warren Loren Wallace in the car, considering NASCAR doesn't require experience or anything to run at the super speedway.

Speaking of Mike's third cousin, once removed ... since NASCAR is naming an insurance company as the new title sponsor of the Busch Nationwide Series, does that mean no more Geico sponsorship and no more commercials starring Warren Loren?

Say it ain't so!

And what does this mean for Allstate, the insurance company formerly known as the Official Insurance of NASCAR?

Saturday morning, NASCAR fans will get to wake up and smell the coffee while catching some live Busch Series racing.

Friday night at Daytona, rain cancelled Nextel Cup qualifying and finally handed the Busch Series a dose of the same medicine.

NASCAR will get the Busch cars rolling Saturday at 9 am/ET in Daytona. I suppose that could cause some time zone issues with the west coast folks, huh?

I'd imagine there's nothing like turning on the ESPN dos at 6am in the west and finding live Busch racing for hardcore race fans. That's F1'ish.

I've gotta say, although I didn't know it at the time, that my love of all-things NASCAR had turned into one of those patterns. Nothing shocked me, nothing surprised -- I was just along for the ride.

Until Wednesday night at tiny Rossburg, Ohio's Eldora Speedway, that is. And boy, do I feel sorry for anyone follows NASCAR to any extent that missed the race either in person or on HBO.

From watching Bill Elliott flip his race car on the frontstretch after a last lap duel with Ryan Newman for the transfer spot in a heat to seeing Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, and Jeff Gordon finish under a blanket at the checkers -- Wednesday's Nextel Prelude to the Dream was the most fun I've had at a race track in years, and possibly ever.
