Report: Roger Clemens Received HGH at Home

Last night's marathon All-Star Game -- woe to the livebloggers charged with chronicling that nonsense -- served several functions. One of them: to prove to casual baseball fans just how long and boring baseball can be. Another: to mask new Roger Clemens revelations.

According to the New York Daily News, steroid dealer Kirk Radomski -- not to be confused with Brian McNamee, Clemens' personal lackey-turned-snitch -- provided receipts to the government which prove he sent steroids to the Clemens household in late 2002 or 2003.

The official line from the Clemens camp is, as usual, denial, but the receipts are timed to corroborate the government's claim that the Rocket was responsible for his wife's use of HGH as she got ready to look sort of scary in her now-infamous Sports Illustrated pictorial. The timing works out, and the circumstantial evidence is almost overwhelming.

In other words, everyone in the world is now convinced that Roger Clemens (and his wife!) took some mixture of steroids and HGH at several stages of his Hall of Fame baseball career. This is nearly a foregone conclusion. McNamee and his lawyers don't need to convince anyone now; each new piece of evidence is just another nail in a coffin that was built in front of the House Oversight Committee.

Mindy McCready May Not Be the Only Female Skeleton in Roger Clemens's Closet

The early front-runner for the award for who's having the worst 2008 has to be Debbie Clemens. The day before Valentine's Day her husband feted her by throwing her under the bus as a HGH user in front of a congressional hearing. Now, just before Mother's Day she gets to have her husband's predilection for other women splashed on newspaper pages for all the world to see.

On the heels of Mindy McCready's admission of a long-term affair with Roger Clemens, the New York Daily News is reporting she was just one of several women the Rocket befriended throughout his baseball career.
Roger Clemens hung out with several attractive women in his baseball career, including beauties in California and Boston and a former Manhattan bartender named Angela Moyer.
Clemens, 45, flew the women around the country on his private jet and bought expensive jewelry for at least one of them, a source told the Daily News Tuesday.
Either Clemens was having an awful lot of fun outside his marriage or, as Mike Lupica writes in the same newspaper, he was running a "mentoring program he started up in karaoke bars for promising teenage singers." That's possible, I suppose, but it seems an odd sideline for a pro pitcher, especially one that's held himself up as a paragon of virtue unfairly smeared by an ever-growing number of people.

Roger Clemens Has Had a 15-Year Relationship With Mindy McCready

The New York Daily News reported late Sunday that "sources" say Roger Clemens had an ongoing sexual relationship with country singer Mindy McCready. Clemens' lawyer acknowledges the existence of the relationship but disputes that there was any "inappropriate relationship."

With that central dispute established, there is now going to be plenty of discussion about Clemens' character, any sexual activity between he and McCready, and how any of this actually relates to steroids. (Does it? I don't even know anymore.)

Here's the money graf from the News:
Roger Clemens carried on a decade-long affair with country star Mindy McCready, a romance that began when McCready was a 15-year-old aspiring singer performing in a karaoke bar and Clemens was a 28-year-old Red Sox ace and married father of two, several sources have told the Daily News.
Ohhh. Well. 15, huh? Yes, that would be awkward. It would also be awkward if, as the source claims, it was "love at first sight" when the two met in a Florida bar while McCready was singing and Roger was with his Red Sox teammates. Naturally, Clemens' ever Fletch Lives-looking lawyer, Rusty Hardin, is issuing strict denials of the sexual aspect of the relationship.
'He flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her,' Hardin said. 'He's considered her a close family friend. ... He has never had a sexual relationship with her.'

Hardin said the Rocket's wife, Debbie, knew McCready and that the singer had traveled on his plane.

Regardless of whether there is/was/has been any sexual manner of interaction between the two, this is going to be Hardin's response, so there's not much to read into there. But if the Daily News' sources are accurate, things could get awkward, especially considering there are allegations of trips to Las Vegas, partying with Monica Lewinsky and Michael Jordan and "bundles of cash in FedEx packages" sent from Clemens to McCready.

The Mitchell Report: the gift that keeps on giving. Sigh.

Debbie Clemens Made Quite the Impression on Brian McNamee

Debbie ClemensI somehow missed the fact that the transcript of Brian McNamee's closed-door meeting with Congress last week was available to the public. But it is, all 235 pages of it in beautiful PDF format. And as 'Duk from Yahoo's new Big League Stew points out, there's some good reading in there. Roger Clemens claims that he didn't appear at Jose Canseco's now infamous BBQ back in 1998, but McNamee has a compelling explanation for why he was able to remember that day so vividly (pages 26-27):
Q: We've received evidence that there was a team party at Canseco's house, but that Mr. Clemens was golfing that day and wasn't at the party. It sounds like you have a pretty clear recollection of seeing Mr. Clemens at this party along with some family members, is that right? Are you certain about that?

A: Roger showed up after golf, I believe. Maybe he was golfing. I don't know if he was golfing. He might have showed up a little bit later, but no, he was there the whole time for the most part. He was in the house. I could tell a specific story about him being there, which was involving Jose (Canseco), Jose's wife and Roger's wife when they went inside, when the guys showed up. I mean, they talked -- no disrespect, but they talked about how great Jose's wife's augmentation job was to Debbie and showed her. And then Debbie showed her her augmentation job.
Shocking, just shocking. Clemens is fighting for his reputation, but his wife can't be too happy about being caught in the fire: in the last week we've discovered that Debbie Clemens abuses HGH and has a boob job. Just wait until next week's shocking revelation: she had her teeth capped and isn't a real blonde!

Source: McNamee Injected Roger Clemens' Wife With HGH

Yesterday, our own Pat Lackey laid out just how weird -- surreal even -- this whole Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee thing has been. And really, it is. Every day there's a new twist, something that makes you go "what the in the hell is going on here?"

Two days ago there were the syringes. Yesterday, there were the photographs. And today? A source told the New York Daily News that McNamee told Congressional lawyers yesterday he injected Clemens' wife, Debbie, with HGH. Wow.

The details:
Debbie Clemens appeared with her husband in a photograph taken in Central Park in the magazine's Feb. 18, 2003 issue wearing a bikini and holding a bat over her shoulders while Roger Clemens reclined on the ground in his Yankee uniform.

"McNamee discussed his wife's use before the committee," according to the source. "She was trying to get in shape for the SI cover. He told them the story that Debbie took growth."

McNamee testified that he injected her at Roger Clemens' direction, according to the source.
At this point, you just have to sit back and see how this all plays out -- Clemens has yet to respond to the allegation. (I have a feeling he will deny it.) Also: like these last couple of allegations (syringes, photographs) it's going to be tough sledding actually proving this stuff as true beyond a shadow of a doubt.

But It sure is fun though, huh?

PS: This is the SI photo in question, if you were wondering. Look at those abs!
