2008 NFL Draft
First-Round Picks

1 of 31

No. 1: Dolphins -- Jake Long, OT, Michigan
"This is Bill Parcells' pick, and Parcells knows whether Long succeeds or fails will go a long way toward defining his legacy." --
FanHouse Analysis | Video Analysis

No.TeamPlayerSchoolPos.
32. Dolphins Phillip Merling Clemson DE
FanHouse: Miami is probably a good place for him. The Dolphins got the best offensive lineman on the board and one of the better defensive linemen.
33. Rams Donnie Avery Houston WR
FanHouse: Given the value on the board, the team's need, and the depth of players like Avery in this draft, it's kinda hard to see why the Rams selected him.
34. Redskins (From Falcons) Devin Thomas Michigan State WR
FanHouse: Outstanding pick! Many people figured he'd be somewhere in the middle to late first round and would have been a nice pick at No. 21.
35. Chiefs Brandon Flowers Virginia Tech CB
FanHouse: With Glenn Dorsey and Branden Albert in the first round and now Flowers in the second, you have to like what you saw today if you're a K.C. fan.
36. Packers
(From Jets)
Jordy Nelson Kansas State WR
FanHouse: -
37. Falcons Curtis Lofton Oklahoma LB
FanHouse: -
38. Seahawks (From Ravens) John Carlson Notre Dame TE
FanHouse: -
39. 49ers Chilo Rachal USC G
FanHouse: -
40. Saints Tracy Porter Indiana CB
FanHouse: -
41. Bills James Hardy Indiana WR
FanHouse: -
42. Broncos Eddie Royal Virginia Tech WR
FanHouse: -
43. Vikings (From Eagles) Tyrell Johnson Arkansas State S
FanHouse: -
44. Bears Matt Forte Tulane RB
FanHouse: Cedric Benson needs a serious challenge and Forte can provide it.
45. Lions Jordon Dizon Colorado LB
FanHouse: -
46. Bengals Jerome Simpson Coastal Carolina WR
FanHouse: Simpson may be a bit of a reach. After all, guys like Limas Sweed, Malcolm Kelly and DeSean Jackson were still out there.
47. Eagles (From Vikings) Trevor Laws Notre Dame DT
FanHouse: Laws is best known as being an energizing player who is exactly the kind of guy who could win favor with Andy Reid.
48. Redskins
(From Texans)
Fred Davis USC TE
FanHouse: Dude is a beast but we already have a Pro Bowl TE in Chris Cooley.
49. Eagles DeSean Jackson California WR
FanHouse: Jackson is known as a confident guy who is at times a bit arrogant.
50. Cardinals Calais Campbell Miami DE
FanHouse: -
51. Redskins Malcolm Kelly Oklahoma WR
FanHouse: That big receiver with great hands that Washington desperately needs.
52. Jaguars (From Bucs) Quentin Groves Auburn DE
FanHouse: -
53. Steelers Limas Sweed Texas WR
FanHouse: -
54. Titans Jason Jones Eastern Michigan DE
FanHouse: -
55. Ravens (From Seahawks) Ray Rice Rutgers RB
FanHouse: -
56. Packers
(From Browns)
Brian Brohm Louisville QB
FanHouse: Green Bay fills one of their handful of needs. And when finding a backup QB is at the top of the off-season to-do list, you're in pretty good shape.
57. Dolphins
(From Chargers)
Chad Henne Michigan QB
FanHouse: -
58. Buccaneers Dexter Jackson Appalachian St. WR
FanHouse: -
59. Colts Mike Pollak Arizona State C
FanHouse: -
60. Packers Patrick Lee Auburn CB
FanHouse: -
61. Cowboys Martellus Bennett Texas A&M TE
FanHouse: -
62. Patriots Terrence Wheatley Colorado CB
FanHouse: -
63. Giants Terrell Thomas USC CB

Redskins get all theses receivers,They need a QB who can throw the ball to them. Looks like another crappy year!

Have the Bengals staff gone nuts ?They could have traded up for Ellis and then waste a 2nd round pick on a reciever they could have gotten in the 5th or 6th round. No wonder Chad Johnson wants out !!!

I like what the Eagles did in their 2 picks. Trevor Laws can pass rush along with Trent Cole and get to Romo and Eli. Desean Jakson can also be the speedster kind of guy that McNabb needs. Look for the Eagles to get a safety or an offensive linemen
