UCLA freshman Kevin Love is the latest player to have a run-in with unruly fans. According to an Sports Illustrated report, Oregon fans left death threats on Love's voice mail and hurled vulgar insults at members of his family. Gordon Gets Trashed

NASCAR star Jeff Gordon isn't very popular in Talladega. The driver's car was bombarded with beverages in 2004 after Gordon won a race under caution because many fans believed Dale Earnhardt Jr. was in the lead when the flag came out.

Snowball Effect

It's well known that the Patriots and Jets are heated division rivals, but fans of the two teams took the rivalry to a new level when they created a snowball storm during a game in December 2007. A referee was actually hit in the head by one of the offerings and the game was temporarily suspended.

Wrigley Wrangler

Most fans just boo when a pitcher for the home team gives up a home run. But on Sept. 28, 1995, a 27-year-old bond trader turned to violence by charging the mound after Cubs pitcher Randy Myers gave one up. The fan was arrested, charged with assault and received a forearm to the head from Myers.

Crossing the Line

College fans often know no boundaries when it comes to dishing insults. In 2002, Virgina supporters chanted "crackhead parents" at then-Maryland player Juan Dixon when he visited University Hall. Both of Dixon's parents were heroin addicts and died of AIDS-related illnesses before he was 17 years old.

Cleveland Rocks

Handing out cheap beers to some fans isn't always a wise idea. A melee broke out on "10-Cent Beer Night" during a game between the Rangers and Indians on June 4th, 1974. Cleveland pitcher Tom Hilgendorf was hit by a chair in the scuffle and the Indians were forced to forfeit the game.

Dodge This

With one out in the bottom of the ninth, the Dodgers bullpen spilled into stands during a May 2000 game at Wrigley Field. A fan had grabbed catcher Chad Kreuter's hat while he sat in the bullpen and when Kreuter went to recover it, a fistfight between Dodgers players and fans ensued over the railing.

Icy Attack

Fun in the snow turned dangerous when New York fans pummeled players, coaches, officials and photographers with chunks of ice in the Chargers' victory over the Giants in 1995. Officials threatened to call the game and fans faced a variety of charges after the barrage.

Garbage Dump

Angered over an overturned call in the final minute, Cleveland fans threw plastic bottles at players and officials and tossed other debris on the field at the conclusion of Jacksonville's 15-10 win over the Browns in December 2001. "It was like dodging bullets," Jaguars wideout Jimmy Smith said.

Family Affair

One of the most surreal incidents in sports history took place in 2002 when Royals coach Tom Gamboa was assaulted by a father-and-son duo. Gamboa escaped with a few cuts and bruises, but it could have been much worse, as a knife was found on the field after the attack.

Malice at the Palace

Perhaps the ugliest altercation took place on Nov. 19, 2004 during a Pistons-Pacers game at the Palace of Auburn Hills. NBA star Ron Artest, pictured, charged into the stands to confront a fan he believed threw a cup of liquid at him. The incident triggered an all-out brawl between players and fans.

Backstabbed

Monica Seles was ranked No. 1 in the world when her life was threatened by a deranged fan in April 1993. The man rushed from the crowd during a break in Seles' match and stabbed her with a steak knife between her shoulder blades. Seles did not play competitively for two years following the assault.
