The IOC had no trouble allowing Iraq to compete when Uday Hussein tortured Iraqi athletes who lost, but now has trouble with the Iraqi Olympic Committee members, and disqualified the team. Disgraceful and heartless.

This is terrible news. I was so looking forward to the camel sled pulling and goat throwing competition.

Who cares? Both countries - China and Iraq - are vile.....

I will be watching the Olympics and pulling hard for the U.S. delegation to crush China and bring home the gold to the American people. Support the United States Olympic Committee. Buy a couple of shirts or pins. Go USA!

How pathetic. These Iraqi's have come along way since the days of Saddam and Odei torturign and murdering them for poor results in past Olympics....but now the IOC has a problem with them simply because of who is on the Iraq Olympic Committee. Pretty disgusting on the IOC's part.

I have always believed that the Olympics was founded on the idea of athletic competition without politics, but that doesn't seem to be the case now. Iraq ditches the people who stood by while Odai treated the athletes like personal slaves, to be done with however he wanted; and the IOC wants a return to the status quo. It now appears that the IOC is more interested in making money than in staging an athletic competition. Why else would they have awarded this year's Olympics to a country with one of the worst human rights records in the world?

This is just a sign of things to come in Iraq. The Shites will take over, Al Sadr will be running the country as a puppet of the Iranians. So much for the fabled surge
