I would rather keep all of the violent criminals locked up and some of the illegals who have commited crimes and just allowed to walk freely. Many jails are over crowded and they are letting some of the most violent criminals out early.

My father got a pardon from that idiot president bush. You can bet scoter libby will get one for sure. A pardon does not erase the crime from your record it is still on there but it is listed as being pardoned. In order to get a pardon you have to see a pardon attorney and they start the process. The FBI comes out to your house and investigates you, they talk to your neighbors and co-workers about your character and lifestyle. They do not tell everyone why they are asking these questions. It took my father about 6 years to get his.

People who actually are innocent can't even get a pardon and here you have an actual "GUILTY" person asking for a break...I guess he thinks he deserves it because he related to a celebrity...give me a break

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie driving drunk was more dangerous than what she did. She should be punished but the sentence was too harsh when compared to what others are getting for endangering others.

I'd like to know if felons are given the opportunity every year or so to apply for a presidential pardon if they wish to do so? Or does a third party initiate it? It sounds like a "dream sheet" ; you hope you'll get it, but the odds are against you from getting the pardon. With 2 million in prison today, it sounds like the pardoning process if very selective.
