Former NASCAR Champ Dies at 95

          AP
          Posted: 2008-05-21 19:01:10
FREWSBURG, N.Y. (May 20) - Lloyd Moore, a NASCAR winner in 1950 and the oldest former driver, has died. He was 95.

Moore died in his sleep Sunday in Frewsburg, in the home where he was born in 1912, according to NASCAR's Web site.

James Bailey, Moore's son-in-law who will preside at his funeral as pastor of Wheeler Hill United Methodist Church, said Tuesday evening that Moore had been in generally good health until the day he died. "He didn't sleep well Saturday night, fell asleep around 5 a.m., and his wife couldn't wake him up Sunday afternoon," Bailey said.

Moore won his lone NASCAR title in Winchester, Ind., and finished fourth in the 1950 standings. He drove from 1949-55 in the Grand National series against Lee Petty, Glenn "Fireball" Roberts and other contemporaries.

"Lloyd was a connection to the origin of NASCAR," former driver Richard Petty said in a statement. "Talking to him was like taking a trip down memory lane for me, because he raced against my dad. I still have memories of those races. He would come by the house after a lot of the races because he and daddy were good friends."

The son of a farmer, Moore was a school bus driver in the early 1930s and worked as a mechanic in a Studebaker garage. For 17 years, he ran the school bus garage for the Frewsburg Central School District, about 80 miles south of Buffalo, until retiring in 1974.

In an interview with The Buffalo News last year, he said he enjoyed watching what NASCAR has become but lightheartedly complained there was "too much baloney," with the hourlong pre-race show and sponsorships.

In his day, he said, he'd drive overnight to a race, unload the trunk, then roll the same car out on the track.

"We just stuck a number on the side, took 'em down and raced 'em," Moore said. "Today they talk about putting in a half-pound of air. When we raced, we just made sure we had air in the tires. The suits these guys wear, they're spotted with advertisements."

He made his NASCAR debut on Oct. 2, 1949, at Heidelberg Raceway in Pittsburgh, Pa., finishing sixth behind Lee Petty. His final start came on Sept. 5, 1955, at Darlington. He finished 24th in a 69-car field that included winner Herb Thomas, Everett "Cotton" Owens, Roberts and Petty.

Richard Petty remembered him as "a great driver and a great person."

"I knew Lloyd from the time I was a young kid and I am proud to say that we developed a great friendship over the years," he said.

Moore is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia, and six daughters.

Jehovah's witnessess do not believe in the Trinity or in having a personal relationship with Jesus. Thereis ony one true and living God. He is Father ,Son and Holy Spirit which makes up the trinity. That is part of the mystery of the gospel. the Good News is that Jesus came to earth to live among us. He died for sinners so that they could have life eternal, spiiritual life that is. We are living in the last days, earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, and rampant sin on every hand. We need to repent and god will save. All we have to do is to confess and believe.

          acticare:
Your Bible has over 3600 omissions from the true Bible. But one that I hope you did not leave out will come back to you full circle one day:
"...and every knee shall bow, and ever tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD (Jehovah)"
How in the word can so many people be deceived??? Because you need the Word of God and not your imitation Bible.

You do not have to set Bible believing people straight! First of all, your Bible is not the Word of God. It is a perverted translation. The very first thing your organization did to pervert the Bible was to change John 1:1. The original Greek is translated perfect in the King James BIble. But instead of reading correctly: ...and the Word was God," your Bible says "...and the Word was "a" god." That my deceived friend destroys the Diety of Jesus as God. Revelation 22 says that any man who adds to or takes away one word from this book, shall be removed from the Book of Life and all the curses in this book shall be added to them!

JEHOVAH WITNESSES: It would do you well to learn that there was no organization called the Jehovah Witnesses until the early 1800's. Charles Taze Russel, "your founder," must have been smoking marijuana laced with crack and crystal meth when he decided that some 1800 years after Christ was crucified that he suddenly was given the revelation for all people. Charles Taze Russel was a false prophet, a counterfiet, an Anti Christ!!

          trrrllns 05:55:40 PM May 22 2008

Listen to this folks: The main Doctrinal verse memorized by all Jehovah Witnesses is found in Isaiah 43:10
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant
whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believme
and understand that I am he: before me there was no
God formed, neither shall there be after me.

This verse my dear Jehovah Witnesses is speaking of none other than Our Great God and Saviour "JESUS CHRIST"

          trrrllns 05:50:53 PM May 22 2008

          WARNING TO ALL JEHOVAH WITNESSES:
The world in which you stake all your claim is about to be destroyed. It will be destroyed by God Himself, who is the person Jesus Christ. And contrary to what you believe, the soul does not cease to exist at the death of the body. Also, there is a Hell for that soul who does not acknowledge Jesus Christ as God.

To answer the foolish question submittted: Jesus prayed to the Father in Heaven. Jesus also said that I and my Father are ONE!! In John 16-17 Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit who will ascend when He ascends is His Spirit. I John 5:7 says : FOR THERE ARE THREE THAT BEAR RECORD IN HEAVEN, THE FATHER, THE WORD (JESUS), AND THE HOLY GHOST: AND THESE THREE ARE ONE.
If you cannot agree with the literal Word of God (Jehovah), then you are in no way Jehovah's Witnesses. AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
