Question:
Do professional golfers have to pay an entry fee for tournments they play in?

I quote from the "Annual '68 issue of Golf Digest":
"Norman Manley, Saugus, Calif., holed out successive tee shots on the 330 yard par-4 4th and the 290 yard par-4 5th at Del Valley CC, Saugus, on Aug. 4, 1994, the only time par-4 holes have been consecutively aced."
I suspect that record still stands. Has anyone heard of another?

Does that mean he has to buy two drinks for everyone?

12 handicapper, pitching wedge 130 yds hole in one very credible,
8 iron 182 yds to the flag.......
congratulations.
sometimes I wonder how much in common certain golfers have with fisherman that had a fish get away!!!!!

8 iron 182 is not hard to buy. I hit an 8 on every Par 3 b/w 165 and 175 and normally land either in the front or middle of the green. I got much envy for the guy. Great job and luck has a lot to do with everything we do in life, skill is only a small part.

I've been golfing 30 years, and must admit it can be done. In 1991 I had a magical day myself with an ace on hole 9, and 3 holes later hit it in and it bounced out ending up 2 inches away. I had the proof of the group ahead which had waived us up on both par threes, and witnessed both. Cost me plenty in drinks for my group and the group ahead. I got my name in the local papers and a bunch of cool stuff from the ball, club, and shoe manufacturers. where i get a little hazy is the 8 iron 182 yards...no self respecting 12 handicap would even attempt that...i think we need more info, heavy wind, extreme downhill ect. The pro at my course told me " If the one on 12 would have stayed in, you could write your own ticket my boy".

I'm glad for the guy. An 8 iron from from 182 that's a bit hard to believe. The wind must have been howling at 30 mph for him to get that there. I can see tiger and the boys with an 8 iron but not this guy. Probably more of a 162 yard shot. But non the less, great shots.
