Well jtorpey668 you just wont ever know what it is like until you quit being a tight wad and go. Its all about the history and specticle of the race. Even racers who get in accidents can win the race. Spend money fro good seats and you see roughly hal of the track at any given time. Please in the future dont comment on something you know nothing about.

Gee -- "jtorpey668" - you obviously have never been to the race in person I take it from your ending comment. If you don't waste your money to get "infield" tickets for just partying then you can see up to almost 3/4 of the track anywhere you sit. I started going to the Indy500 back in 1966 with my father until a year after his death in 1995 when I moved to Nevada. I just do not agree with your comment that "peole are wasting their good money to attend a race that for the most part they can't see". Not true and I think people waste their money on way worse things than that. Plus attending the Indy 500 each year has made some of the most memorable moments I will always cherish. But then I'm an avid race fan, originally from Indiana.

jtorpey, You have obviously never been to Indy. You need to get out of the closet and enjoy life.

Who really cares who starts where?? The race will be won by the most consistent driver that does not get in an accident, does not have a bad pit stop, and is fortunate enough to be in the top 5 or 6 WHEN THE INEVITABLE YELLOW FLAG DROPS TO ENSURE A CLOSE FINISH. The only part of the race worth watching is the last 30 minutes. I can't believe that 400,000 people spend good money to attend a race that for the most part they can't see.
